Debate began in parliament this morning on the cybercrime bill which was tabled by Prime Minister Dr. Ralph Gonsalves.
The bill was introduced earlier this year but was sent to a select committee where the public was allowed to make an input.
There have been strong opinions expressed against certain clauses in the bill from individuals and organizations in St. Vincent and the Grenadines (SVG) and elsewhere, and equally strong support. Among those supporting was former Attorney General Parnell Campbell QC.
Presenting the bill, PM Gonsalves said several changes were made to some of the clauses and he expects it to pass today in parliament.
The debate continues 3pm today.
