Dougie “NOSE” Joseph has called for the Grammar School Playing Field to be renamed the Fred Trimmingham Playing Field in honour of the late St. Vincent and the Grenadines Footballer and Cricketer.
Co-founder of Pastures United, Joseph made the call as he paid tribute to the Trimmingham at his Funeral Service at the Grammar School Playing Field yesterday.
The call was strongly supported by Minister of Transport and Works, Senator Julian Francis, who also paid tribute to the outstanding Sportsman. Francis undertook to take the call to the higher Authorities.
Hundreds of people turned out for the Funeral Service. At the end of the Service the deceased was driven on a lap of honour around the Field.
The Funeral procession was accompanied by a section of Sion Hill Steel Orchestra as it made its way through the Streets of Kingstown in a celebratory atmosphere.
Trimmingham was buried at the Kingstown Cemetery.
