Grenadian revolutionary, Joseph Ewart Layne, will deliver this year’s Annual Emancipation Lecture on Thursday, July 28, at UWI Lecture Hall, Kingstown.
The topic for the lecture scheduled for 7:00pm is: “The Grenada Revolution: Insights and Lessons for Small Island States.
Mr. Layne will share his first-hand experience of the makings and impacts of the Grenada Revolution on Grenada and the rest of the region.
His presentation is also expected to link the Grenada Revolution with the wider Emancipation Project in the Caribbean.
The University of the West Indies Open Campus, St. Vincent and the Grenadines will host the Lecture, to commemorate the 178 anniversary of the ending of slavery in the English speaking Caribbean.
