Defending champions, Grenada and host St. Vincent and the Grenadines made it two wins out of two in the Eastern Caribbean Central Bank (ECCB) Organization of Eastern Caribbean States OECS Under-23 Netball Championship here at the Arnos Vale Sports Complex yesterday.
Grenada dominated their opponents Dominica during the entire game. Quarter scores 18-5, 28-14, 37-21 and finally winning 44-26. Scorers for Grenada were Ronesha Stafford had 23 from 31 tries, Carlene Alexander 14 from 20 and Tiffany Frederick 7 from 9 and for Dominica Shannelle St. Rose netted 23 from 28 attempts and Kyla Winston 3 from 4.
St. Vincent and the Grenadines recorded 29-26 victory over St. Lucia in a battle of the Saints. SVG led 9-3, 18-8, 23-17 and finally a nerved racking 3-goal win 29-26 in a very competitive game. For St. Vincent and the Grenadines, Kadesha Williams scored 28 from 34 and Shaniesh Daniel 1 from 5 and for St. Lucia, Aihayna Hipolite scored 16 from 21, Megan Neston 6 from 10 and Joanne Anderson 4 from 12.
Matches on this Morning will see St. Lucia facing the unbeaten Grenadians and Dominica against St. Kitts.
Later today from 5:30 pm in round (4), St. Lucia plays against Dominica and host St. Vincent and the Grenadines will tackle St. Kitts from 6 pm. That match will be carried live on NBC Radio.
Meanwhile, on the opening day Saturday, Grenada beat St. Kitts/Nevis 42-31 and St. Vincent and the Grenadines defeated Dominica 31-25.
