On Tuesday, in the Garfield Sobers International Schools Cricket Tournament, French Verandah Community College defeated St Leonard’s Boys School by three wickets at the Wayne Daniel Complex in Barbados. It was a second round match in Group A of the Tournament.
The scores: St Leonard’s Boys 124 off 37.3 overs (Tauron Gibson 47, Savio Eastmond 25, Jeremy Layne 3-19, Jeremy Haywood 2-20). French Verandah St Vincent Community College 125-7 off 32.5 overs (Deroney May 25, Tilron Harry 25, Akeem Williams 3-33, Romario Oneal 2-18).
The Community College’s opening match versus Foundation School was rained out after 12 overs were bowled with Foundation School on 36-2.
Rain severely hampered yesterday’s matches. The St Vincent and the Grenadines Community College started their match against Queen’s College of Guyana.
In a match reduced to 15 overs, French Verandah St Vincent and the Grenadines Community College won the toss and decided to field first. Queens College of Guyana were 2 without loss after 1.4 overs when the rain came and forced the abandonment of the match.
French Verandah St Vincent and the Grenadines Community College are scheduled to meet Oakville Cricket Academy today.
