Eighty Four year old Berkley Nanton of Lowman’s Leeward, was rushed to the Milton Cato Memorial Hospital, between 8:00 and 8:30 last Friday night, after the bedroom in which he occupied, was thrown into a blaze.
Nanton who is originally from Owia, subsequently died in the Intensive Care Unit, around 4:00 pm on Saturday morning, after receiving second degree burns about his body.
It is alleged that the fire that engulf Nanton’s bedroom was caused by a firebomb.
One of the members of the New Testament Church of God Lowman’s Leeward, who wished to remain anonymous, told NBC Radio, that it was through their efforts, they were able to save the elderly man, from being burnt to death.
Berkley Nanton was a retiree of the Public Works Department, lived with his Grandson, who was absent during the time of the incident.
