The Solid Waste Management Unit in the Central Water and Sewerage Authority (CWSA) is appealing to Businesses in Kingstown not to use the garbage Skips which are being provided for revelers and temporary vendors during the Carnival season.
This appeal was made by Collections Superintendent, Greg Francois, during the CWSA’s Water and Waste matters program aired on NBC Radio.
Mr. Francois said when the temporary vendors pay to receive their licenses to sell they are already paying a portion of the fees which give them access to use the skips.
He said the skips will only be placed at strategic locations to be used by the temporary vendors and carnival revelers only and he is encouraging businesses around the city to continue using their usual garbage disposal methods, during the Carnival season.
