Medical Technologist in the Ministry of Health, Kamala Questelles has sought to dispel several myths associated with donating blood.
Ms Questells spoke on the issue, on World Blood Donor Day observed last week Tuesday June 14th, under the theme: Blood Connects Us All, and with the Slogan: Share Life, Give Blood.
She explained that most persons can donate blood, even those who have had tattoos. She however noted that they will have to wait one year and over after receiving the tattoos or pacing before donating blood.
Miss Questelles said persons who have contracted mosquito bourne diseases such as dengue, chikungunya and zika must wait 28 days after recovery before donating blood.
