Prime Minister Dr. Ralph Gonsalves recently attributed the postponement of the completion of the International Airport at Argyle to a number of challenges.
Speaking at a News Conference last week, the Prime Minister said that three main factors that contributed to the delay are, delay in the receipt of funds for lands sold, inclement weather conditions and the difficulty in removing the petroglyph Hill at the site.
Dr. Rudy Matthias, the Chief Executive Officer of the International Airport Development Company, disclosed in March that the Argyle International Airport is likely to be opened by the middle of this year.
The Argyle Airport is being constructed at a cost of over 700-million EC dollars.
