St. Vincent and the Grenadines won (2) gold medals and (4) Bronze at last weekend’s Hampton International Athletics Games at the Hasely Crawford Stadium in Port of Spain, Trinidad.
Zita Vincent won gold in Female Under-16 1500-metres in a time of 5 minutes, 08.95 seconds. Kimorie Shearman also won gold in the Men’s Invitation 400-metres in 47.43 seconds. The Bronze medals came through Chaunte Williams who was third in the Female Under-16 1,500-metres in 5 minutes, 26.90 seconds.
Daria Matthias also won a Bronze medal after placing third in the Girls Under-18 100-metres in 12.27 seconds.
Greneisha Thomas won a 3rd Bronze medal for her third place in the Girls Under-14 400-metres in 1 minute, 02.15 seconds.
The country’s 4th Bronze medal was won by Ulanda Lewis who was third in the Under-14 Female 200-metres in 26.27 seconds.
There were also fourth placings for Josh Hamilton in the Men’s 100-metres, Zita Vincent in the Female Under-16 800-metres, Daria Mathias in the Female Under-18 200-metres in 26.08 seconds, Shahalia Lynch in the Women’s Long Jump with 4.96-metre.
Mackayla Mc Dowald was 6th in Female Under-14 100-metres in 13.31 seconds as well as in the Female Under-14 200-metres in 27.06 seconds.
Krystal Foster placed 6th in the Women’s Open Discus with a 31.93-metres and was 7th in Women’s Open Shot Put with 8.92-metres.
Kimorie Shearman placed 7th in the Men’s 200-metres in 21.85 seconds.
Shahalia Lynch finished 8th in the Girls Under-16 400-metres in 1 minute, 02.15 seconds.
St. Vincent and the Grenadines was represented at the Games by an 11-member Team and two Officials.
