St. Lucia and defending champions, Dominica gained first innings honours in Round (1) drawn matches of the Windward Islands Senior Men’s Two-Day Cricket Championship ended yesterday in Grenada.
St. Lucia gained first innings points over St. Vincent and the Grenadines. The scores: St. Lucia 243 in their first innings and batting a second time closed on 165 for 8; Keddy Lesporis 54, Craig Emmanuel 41, Sabinos Emmanuel 39; Kenneth Dembar took 5 for 33 for St. Vincent and the Grenadines.
Resuming on day two on 58 for 4, St. Vincent and the Grenadines reached 177; Captain Sunil Ambris 32, Casmond Walters 30, Asif Hooper 29, Miles Bascombe 29; Dermond Edwards 3 for 37, Larry 2 for 24, Kevin Augustin 2 for 34 were the St. Lucian wicket-takers.
Dominica secured first innings points over Grenada at Progress Park. The scores: Dominica 329 in their first innings and in their second innings 21 without loss. Grenada in their only innings reached 312; Roland Cato 96 not out, Keon George 63, S. Lewis 27, Devon Smith 27; Captain Liam Sebastian 4 for 74, Kaveem Hodge 2 for 34.
Round Two matches beginning today pits, St. Vincent and the Grenadines versus Grenada at the National Stadium in St. George’s and Dominica will meet St. Lucia at Progress Park.
