The importance of contingency planning to minimize the impact of the possible outbreak of the contagious animal disease, Pathogenic Avian Influenza was highlighted at NEMO’s simulation exercise held last Tuesday.
Chief Agricultural Officer Ashley Caine said an outbreak of this nature could have serious consequences for human health.
He also stated that the ministry of agriculture has the responsibility to understand the dynamics of this disease so that they can respond when the need arises.
