Vincentians who are currently studying tourism at the University Institute of Technology of Puerto Cabello, Venezuela have been attended to by the Authorities after being victims of a burglary at their residence on Friday May 20th.
When the burglary took place, laptops, passports, cards, money and personal belongings were stolen, the Venezuelan Embassy here said.
A complaint was made to law enforcement agencies, and the students were transferred from the residence where the theft took place to the home of a teacher. Currently, they are seeking a safe abode for the students to live.
Meanwhile, the Government of St. Vincent and the Grenadines is providing one-way plane tickets to the students to return home for summer break.
Prime Minister Dr. Ralph Gonsalves however noted that it will be the choice of the students whether or not to return to Venezuela after the break.
