t. Vincent and the Grenadines will join countries around the world in observing World Hypertension Day next week Tuesday, under the theme: “Know Your Numbers.”
To commemorate the occasion, the St. Vincent and the Grenadines Diabetic and Hypertensive Association, will collaborate with the Ministry of Health, Wellness and the Environment, to host a March and Rally.
The march will commence at 3:30pm from Heritage Square, accompanied by the Royal SVG Police Force Band.
The keynote speaker at the Rally will be Dr. Tomo Kanda, Pan American Health Organization Regional Advisor on Non Communicable Diseases and Mental Health.
There will also be addresses by Epidemiologist, Dr. Rosmond Adams, and other professionals from the Ministry of Health, Wellness and the Environment.
Additionally, on Friday, May 20th, 2016, there will be an outreach activity at the Central Vegetable Market, Kingstown, from 9:00am to 2:00pm. Blood Pressure checks, Body Mass Index, and Counselling services will also be offered.
