A Vincentian man who appeared in Barbados’ court yesterday on drugs charges, has been remanded to Dodds Prison.
Andy Adrain Ferdinand, 38, was not required to plead to any of the indictable charges which Magistrate Wanda Blair read to him in the District ‘E’ Magistrates’ Court at Holetown.
Ferdinand is accused of possession, possession with intent to supply, trafficking and importation.
The charges stem from an incident, which occurred some nautical miles off the island’s west coast at around 9:45 p.m. last Monday. Barbados Police said they had intercepted a boat and arrested Ferdinand along with a Barbadian man.
12 polythene bags, along with four packages of cannabis weighing about 660 pounds, with an estimated value of BDS $1.3 million were seized.
