A new sub-branch of the General Employees’ Co-operative Credit Union Limited (GECCU) was officially opened on the grenadine island of Canouan last Saturday May7th, 2016.
This is the 4th sub-branch to be opened by GECCU, which serves more than 39,000 members throughout St. Vincent and the Grenadines and the diaspora.
Addressing the ceremony, President of GECCU Kelvin Pompey said the new branch will not only be more convenient for GECCU members on Canouan, but it would also contribute to economic growth on the island and the country as a whole.
Meanwhile General Manager of GECCU, Lennox Bowman described the opening of the sub-branch as historic.
He said GECCU can boast of having been instrumental in providing assistance to many members over the years.
In addition to its main office in Kingstown, GECCU also has branch offices in Georgetown, Bequia and Union Island.
