Nigel Mathias of Glen, Joash Nash of Layou and Javorn Clasp of Sion Hill have been selected to attend the Digicel Football Academy in Jamaica next month, following last week’s Digicel Kick Start Football Clinic at the Arnos Vale Sports Complex here. Attended by 30 young Vincentian footballers who were coached by three coaches from Manchester City’s Schools Football Programme.
Glenn, Nash and Clasp will be among 42 young footballers between 14 and 16 years from 14 countries in the region who will benefit from further coaching by the Manchester City Coaching staff.
Eight of those who attend the Digicel Football Academy in Jamaica will qualify for one week of training at the Manchester City Football Club Camp in Manchester, England where they will also be exposed to opportunities for sponsorship and football scholarships.
