A Fish Night will be held at Rose Place tonight as Fisherman’s Day activities continue here under the theme “Illegal Fishing and Climate Change are threats to livelihoods and Food Security but against all odds we will prevail”
The other events throughout the month include a Secondary School Cook-off competition on May 6th and this will be followed by another fish Night in Calliaqua.
There will also be Beach Seine competitions as well as Female and Junior Fishing Competition leading up to the Grand Finale on May 16th.
The first fish night was held in Barrouallie to launch the month of activities.
In his address at the event, representative of the Barrouallie Fisheries Development Corp, Huelin Pierre said fishing has been the main livelihood of the Barrouallie Community.
