When the 2016 Public Service 5-a-side Small Goal Football Championship kicked-off at the Grammar School Playing Field yesterday afternoon, Customs and Treasury played to a goalless draw, the match between the Ministry of Education and National Insurance Services was drawn 1-1, with Kala Henry scoring for the Ministry of Education and Jerron John netting for National Insurance Services.
In their second game, Customs played to another goalless draw with the Ministry of Housing.
The Ministry of Tourism defeated defending champions, the Ministry of Transport and Works 3-1. Tourism took a 3-0 lead with goals from Rodney Small, Steven Waldron and Juma Gilkes. Transport scored a consolation goal through Lenroy Lee just 8 seconds before the final whistle.
Today at 4:30 p. m, the Ministry of Economic Planning will oppose St Vincent and the Grenadines Coast Guard, and the Ministry of National Security will meet the Ministry of Health. This afternoon’s matches will also be played at the Grammar School Playing Field.
There are 14 Government Ministries and Statutory Bodies competing in three Groups of the Championship.
