Vincentian athletes, Shafiqua Maloney, Jenice Daley, and Brendon Valentine-Parris put in good performances at overseas athletics meets yesterday.
In the St Kitts-Nevis Challenge Series at the Kim Collins Stadium in St Kitts, Maloney ran a season-best time of 54.75 seconds in the 400 metres to qualify for the World Junior Championships in July in Poland.
At the same meet, Jenice Daley ran 55.52 seconds in the 400 metres. It was her first race at the distance since 2014.
At the SAIC Outdoor Conference Championships in South Carolina, Valentine-Parris was second in the 400 metres and the 200 metres, and helped his team win the 4 x 400 metres.
