St. Vincent and the Grenadines will join with countries around the world to observe International Library Week this month.
A release from the National Public Library says the week will be celebrated this year from April 10th thru the 16th, under the theme: Libraries Transform.
To commemorate the week, the National Public Library is hosting an Appreciation Day today.
An Opening ceremony was held from 10:00 this morning at the Conference Room of the National Library. The feature address came from Beth Kramer, the Director of the West Tisbury Public Library located at Martha’ Vineyard in the United States….And, from two this afternoon, Vincentian Author- Curtis Williams will launch titles from his eBook collection.
During the day, there will be Displays and Exhibits, Demonstrations of the Library’s Online Public Access Catalogues and processing of books.
Members of the public are also being invited to take along their mobile device when they visit the Library.
Remarks will also come from the Director of Libraries Michelle Campbell and other Government officials.
