The Ministry of Health, Wellnesses and the Environment says it has received notification of a second Laboratory confirmed case of Zika in St. Vincent and the Grenadines.
Chief Medical Officer, Dr. Simone Keizer – Beache informed NBC News the latest recorded case is a female from the Kingstown Area.
Dr. Keizer Beache however said that this case is not an instance of local transmission but rather one that was obtained abroad based on the patient’s history of recent travel.
Dr. Keizer-Beache added that the Ministry of Health is continuing its work throughout the country, to ensure that it controls the population of the Aedes Aegypti Mosqito and curtails the spread of the Zika Virus.
