President of the West Indies Cricket Board, Dave Cameron has announced that the Board will meet with the Players in June to find a common ground where the best players can represent the Region in all formats of Cricket.
Cameron expressed disappointment at what he termed Sammy’s “inappropriate” comments at Sunday’s Presentation Ceremony for the ICC World Twenty/20 in India, but sent his most conciliatory message to the players for some time, after previously insisting that they with the West Indies Players’ Association (WIPA).
In a Statement hours after the West Indies defeated England by four wickets to win the World Twenty/20 Title for the second time, Cameron said: “Coming up in May this year, the Board will host its Annual review (retreat) with the players, WIPA, selectors and the Technical team to review player, management and Technical plans.
We want to see how we can find common ground in ensuring that the best players in the Region are available for selection for West Indies teams.”
