West Indies beat host nation India by a splendid 7-wicket with just two balls to spare yesterday to qualify for the Final of the ICC Men’s World Twenty/20 Cricket Tournament in the 2nd semi-final at Mumbai, India.
West Indies won the toss and inserted India to bat first, who made 192 for 2 off their 20-overs. Virat Kohli led the scoring with an unbeaten 89 not out, Rohit Sharma made 43 and A-JINK-YA RA-HANE hit 40.
Samuel Badree 1 for 26 and Andre Russell 1 for 47 were the wicket takers West Indies.
In reply, West Indies reached 196 for 3 off 19.4-overs. Lindl Simmons, who replaced the injured Andre Fletcher led the scoring for West Indies with 83 not out, supported by Johnson Charles 53 and Andre Russell 43 not out.
West Indies will now meet England in the Final on Sunday at Eden Gardens in Kolkata.
So, it was an outstanding day for West Indies Cricket yesterday.
