Jamaica topped the medals Table at this year’s CARIFTA Games which ended at the National Stadium in St. George’s Grenada last night.
A preliminary count last night showed that Jamaica equaled last year’s record medals tally of 86 medals by winning 42 gold medals, 28 silver and 16 Bronze this year, compared to 42 gold, 25 silver and 19 bronze won last year in St. Kitts.
The Bahamas were next with six gold, 15 silver and 13 bronze, followed by Barbados with six gold, six silver and eight bronze, Grenada with three gold, four silver and six bronze, Trinidad and Tobago with three gold, two silver and nine bronze, while Guadeloupe gained three gold, one silver and one bronze.
St. Vincent and the Grenadines was among the 26 countries that participated in the Games.
