Chairman of LIAT’s regional shareholder governments- Dr. Ralph Gonsalves has said that the carrier is not out of the woods yet…even though it continues to make significant strides at cutting costs and becoming more competitive.
Dr. Gonsalves explained that the airline is well on its way to being more commercial and offer better services, at cheaper rates.
The company now uses ATRs, having replaced the Dash 8 planes. And, Dr. Gonsalves said the re-fleeting was not done as well as it could have been.
The Vincentian Prime Minister added that he is aware of complaints that air fares are too high, but, reminded travellers that someone has to pay for the state-of-the-art airports they build and the services provided at those facilities.
