“Social Security is one of the most important ways in which countries protect the welfare of their citizens”. These are the words of the Minister of National Mobilization Frederick Stephenson.
Minister Stephenson made the comments while addressing delegates at the opening of the 25th Annual Meeting of CARICOM Heads of Social Security held here last week.
According to the Minister, the implementation of the CARICOM Social Security Agreement is a significant move.
Meanwhile, Executive Director of the National Insurance Services (NIS) – Reginald Thomas, while addressing participants pointed out that in order to ensure a good quality of life for senior citizens, the administration of the CARICOM Social Security Reciprocal Agreement must be given higher priority.
