The Ministry of Agriculture is today hosting a workshop on Biosecurity for Poultry Farms for the Prevention of Avian Influenza commonly known as Bird Flu.
Addressing this morning’s opening ceremony at the Methodist Church Hall, Chief Agricultural Officer, Ashley Cain said today’s workshop aims to sensitise farmers about the Avian Influenza and raise their awareness to ensure that they are prepared to address this issue.
Meanwhile the Country Representative for the Inter-American Institute for Cooperation on Agriculture (IICA), Michael Dalton said Avian Influenza could have a significant impact on the income of Poultry Famers and National Food Security.
