Prime Minister and Minister of Finance Dr. Ralph Gonsalves said the central theme for the 2016 Budget is Economic Growth, Job Creation, Zero Hunger and Fiscal Consolidation amidst Global Uncertainties.
Dr. Gonsalves made the point as he presented the 2016 Appropriation Bill, in Parliament on Monday, amounting to 912.9 million dollars.
The Prime Minister said this theme is important, as the Government continues to create opportunities to improve the quality of life of the people in St. Vincent and the Grenadines.
He said Government would be seeking this year to reduce the budgeted current account deficit and that the Government will also place heavy emphasis on further economic growth this year, to build on the 1.4 percent growth, which was recorded in 2015.
