LP Combined of Georgetown defeated Star Girls of Barrouallie 42-20 in yesterday’s opening match of the 2016 Marriaqua Valley Sports Committee Netball Championship at the Richland Park Government School Hard Court.
LP Combined led in all quarters, 8-5, 16-10, 33-14 and 42-20 to seal the victory.
Goal Shoot Kimesha Antoine scored 16 goals from 23 tries and Gailene Gordon had 22 from 23 attempts for LP Combined of Georgetown.
For Star Girls of Barrouallie, Kay-Shorn Lowman scored 18 goals from 25 attempts and Kelisha Barber netted 2 goals from 9 tries.
Eight of the ten registered teams took part in yesterday’s March-pass.
High Park United are the defending champions.
This afternoon’s match will be between Berlin Strikers and Soldier Girls also at the Richland Park Government School Hard Court.
