The National Emergency Management Organization (NEMO) says it will be moving this year to roll out a New National Plan for responding to Volcanic Emergencies.
Director of NEMO Howie Prince tells NBC News, work on the plan commenced during 2015 and is continuing this year.
Mr. Prince said as part of the rollout of the New Plan, NEMO officials y will be going into communities to sensitize members of the public on protocols to follow in the event of a Volcanic Eruption.
Mr. Prince said the National Plan is being implemented in collaboration with a number of communities and local and international organizations.
He said this year several projects will be rolled out at the community level under the New Plan.
