As Vincentians prepare for an extended period of eating, a call has been made for persons to limit the amount of salt they consume.
The call has been made by Community Health Officer, Rosemaire Muckett, who said persons should do more to reduce their overall salt intake.
Ms. Muckett added that when cooking, spices and herbs can take the place of salt.
Ms Muckett said a reduction in the amount of salt consumed help to preserve internal organs such as the heart and kidneys.
And Ms. Muckett is also appealing to Mothers across the country to refrain from adding salt to anything which they feed their young children and babies.
