The St. Vincent and the Grenadines Port Authority says it will be extending its hours of operation from this Friday December 18th.
Operations Officer at the St. Vincent and the Grenadines Port Authority, Wallwin Nichols tells NBC News this is to facilitate people wishing to clear their barrels and other personal items before Christmas Day.
He said the extended hours will be in effect from Friday December 18th until Wednesday December 23rd, highlighting that they will also be opened this Saturday and Sunday.
Mr. Nichols said they are also facilitating the movement of containers between Port Kingstown and Campden Park to eliminate congestion at the ports.
He said they are confident that they will be able to handle all of the containers before Christmas once they arrive in a timely manner.
