The St. Vincent and the Grenadines Christian Council has called for calm and the rule of law, after the conflict which has arisen in the wake of General Elections held here on Wednesday.
Preliminary results show that the incumbent Unity Labour Party, ULP secured a 4th consecutive term in office, after winning eight seats in the Election, while the New Democratic Party captured seven.
But the New Democratic Party NDP has published a statement claiming that it won the Central Leeward seat by six votes, and is confident that it has won the Elections, based on figures received from its Polling Agents In a statement issued today, President of the Christian Council, Monsignor Michael Stewart, called for an end to the political divisions which dominated the election campaign.
