A local health official is calling on members of the corporate sector to play a greater role in the fight against HIV/AIDS in St. Vincent and the Grenadines.
The call came from Assistant Professor of Medicine at the Trinity School of Medicine, Dr. Conrad Nedd, during a Radio Discussion Program on the topic: ‘Tackling HIV/AIDS Using a Community Approach’.
While commending the government’s response to the disease, Dr. Nedd said there is a need for greater community involvement in tackling the disease.
Meanwhile, Clinical Care Coordinator in the Ministry of Health, Dr. Jose Davy, said St. Vincent and the Grenadines has one of the highest infections rate for HIV/AIDS in the region.
