The 17th annual Nine Morning Launching Parade will kick off this Sunday under the theme: Celebrating the Reason for the Season.
The traditional lighted street parade will march off at 6:00 p.m., proceeding from Heritage Square, down Bay Street, on to Higginson Street, on to Back Street, and ending at Heritage Square with a big Christmas Concert.
The procession will include the Police and Cadet Corps bands, a variety of string bands, the Sion Hill Euphonium Steel Orchestra, Rose Bank Boom Drum and the Rose Hall Drummers.
The Christmas Concert will begin with a special word of pray for the nation by Pastor Gilbert Porter of the Belair New Testament Church.
Minister of Tourism Sports and Culture, Cecil Mc Kie will officially declare the festival open.
Addresses will also come from Lennox Bowman of the SVG Nine Mornings Committee and corporate sponsors the National Lottery and VINLEC.
There will be performances from the group: Called Out, La Gracia Dance Company, Arabesque, Stacey Little, Luta, Sulle, The Bowmans, Lowmans Anglican School Dancers with special presentations from various community groups.
Nine Mornings Festivities are unique to St. Vincent and the Grenadines, and will be staged across the country from December 16th to 24th.
