A very reliable team of delegates from St. Vincent and the Grenadines is heading to the United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP 21) in Paris.
According to Prime Minister Gonsalves, this country will be represented at the 2015 United Nations Climate Change Conference, by a very reliable team which includes Minister of Health, Wellness and the Environment, Clayton Burgin as well as Former Minister of Health and Foreign Affairs and current Assistant Secretary-General for Human and Social Development, at the Caribbean Community (CARICOM) Secretariat, Dr. Douglas Slater.
The Prime Minister Gonsalves says coming out of the 2015 United Nations Climate Change Conference, the region wants to see a legally binding document that will address the issue of Climate Change.
COP 21 will be held in France, from November 30th to December 11th. It will, for the first time in over 20 years of UN negotiations, aim to achieve a legally binding and universal agreement on climate, with the aim of keeping global warming below 2 degrees Celsius.
