The Ministry of Health Wellness and the Environment says it is continuing its efforts to reduce stigma and discrimination against persons who may be infected and affected by HIV/AIDS.
Speaking to NBC news recently, Director of the ministry’s HIV/AIDS and STIs program Ferosa Roache says they are of the firm view that stigma is among the main reasons why persons here stay away from knowing their HIV status, which in turn increase the HIV count in SVG.
St. Vincent and the Grenadines now has a total of 1,484 cases of HIV/AIDS, with 53 new HIV cases recorded between the period January and September of this year.
