The St. Vincent Electricity Services Limited (VINLEC) is appealing to customers to conserve electricity.
Communications Officer at VINLEC, Tamara Job-Sprott. Mrs. Job-Sprott says, while Customers are seeing lower electricity bills they should not become complacent and is therefore appealing to customers to reduce their electricity consumption.
Additionally, Mrs. Job-Sprott is warning Members of the public against lighting fires close to poles, stay wires, ground mounted transformers and other VINLEC infrastructure as any damage to the network can result in disruption to the electricity supply.
Mrs. Job-Sprott notes that the Company is concerned about the possible threat to public safety as fire and electricity are extremely dangerous together.
