Minister of Education Girlyn Miguel has appealed to Vincentians to reflect on their role in fostering national pride, as activities continue to celebrate this country’s 36th Anniversary of Independence.
Minister Miguel made the appeal, as she addressed the Annual Schools’ Independence Rally held at the Victoria Park on Friday.
She noted that the theme for this year’s independence celebrations ‘Working Together To Enhance National Pride’ holds special significance.
She said each national has a role to play in the development of SVG, and as such each citizen must treat each other with respect, love, dignity and fairness.
Thirty one students were presented with National Awards at Friday’s event, for their outstanding performance in this year’s CAPE Examinations.
Kyle James received the Prime Minister’s Award for having the most outstanding performance.
