The Third National Heritage Parade organised by the National Heritage Organization, was held yesterday, under the theme: We Love We: All Things Vincy.
The parade started at the Cruise Ship Berth, traveled through the streets of Kingstown and culminated at Heritage Square.
And for the first time, the parade featured performance stops at the Banfield Gas Station, the Central Market and the Postal Corporation Building.
The parade featured over 40 performers, including Naked Roots, La Gracia, Rodney Small, Skinny Fabulous, Arabesque Dance Company, Resistance Drummers and Avenue Dancers.
The Parade also recognised and paid homage to many Vincentians who contributed to the development of St Vincent and the Grenadines.
Following the Parade, the opening ceremony of the Xtreme Heritage Village in the Co-op Bank Car Park got on it way.
The opening ceremony heard remarks from sponsors, and featured performances from several local artistes and groups.
The Village will run until Tuesday October 27th and will reflect an old time community, reminiscent of the type of lifestyle lived by our ancestors.
