President of the Public Service Union, Elroy Boucher said the strike action initiated last week was successful.
Mr. Boucher made the assertion during a News Conference this morning.
He disclosed that Prime Minister Dr. Ralph Gonsalves offered the Public Servants a salary increase, during a meeting with Government officials yesterday.
He said a proposal was tabled by the administration, but the Union’s executive will not make a decision until they meet with their membership this week.
The PSU President added that his Union’s investigations into why some members didn’t take part in the strike, revealed three reasons, fear of victimization, party loyalty and the perception that the country could not afford the payout.
