As part of activities to observed Financial Information Month, the Royal St. Vincent and the Grenadines Police Force (SVPF) radio programme “On The Beat”, last Monday dealt primarily with information surrounding the financial sector.
The programme featured several guests from various financial stakeholders.
Guest, Danley Francis, Senior Marketing Officer at the General Employees Co-operative Credit Union (GECCU), explained that saving is not putting money away for a period of one week. However, it is putting away money for the future or for a particular purpose, such as retirement, or to further one’s education.
And guest Nyasha Brown, the Manager of Money Service Businesses and Friendly Societies, offered advice to citizens who are reluctant to save money in financial institutions.
Nyasha pointed out that financial intuitions offers a measure of security, against fire and burglary, thus reducing the risk of saving money at home.
