The St. Vincent and the Grenadines Christian Council will host a Theological Reflection and Panel Discussion on Thursday October 29th, on the theme: Cause and Effect of Crime and Violence in St. Vincent and the Grenadines: A Search for Common Solutions.
A release from the Council says the Bishop of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Kingstown Jason Gordon will lead the presentation, which would be followed by a Panel Discussion.
The Panel will comprise: Dr. Karen Providence of the Mental Health Centre; Bishop Sonny Williams of the Pentecostal Assemblies of the West Indies; Barrister At Law, Julian Jack and Superintendent of Police, Kamecia Blake-Byam.
The Council says the primary objective of the Theological Reflection and Panel Discussion is to examine the nature, causes and consequences of crime and violence in the society, with the aim of assisting in prevention and reduction.
The Council says it also sees the event as an opportunity to explore options for collaboration with existing institutions and organisations charged with the prevention and detection of crime, and the prosecution of persons charged with criminal offences.
The event will be held at the Methodist Church Hall in Kingstown, on Thursday October 29th from six-thirty in the evening.
