Retirees of the state owned power Company, VINLEC, will be taken on a tour to the Leeward Side of the island this Friday, as the Company hosts its Seventh Annual Retiree Appreciation Day.
A release from VINLEC says the first stop will be at the Lowmans Bay Power Plant where the guests of honour will observe operations at the Plant, including the Solar PV Farm.
The attendees will also be given a tour of the refurbished Richmond Power Station. In addition, the participants will be offered free blood pressure and blood sugar checks.
The Appreciation Day is part of an ongoing Retiree Appreciation Program initiated by VINLEC as a demonstration of the Company’s gratitude to the retirees who have contributed to the development of the Company.
The program also provides retirees with opportunities to interact at numerous other activities organized by the Company including Family Fun Day and Awards Ceremony. Additionally, staff from the Human Resources Department visit retirees on birthdays to make presentations of gift baskets.
Previous outings included luncheons and tours to Rawacou, Bequia, Black Point and Dark View.
The Company anticipates that this year’s event will be successful and exciting as it will give retirees and employees the opportunity to socialize, share knowledge and exchange ideas.
