Plans for the development of the South Coast Marine Area will be discussed today, at a Forum hosted by the National Parks, Rivers and Beaches Authority, and the Fisheries Division in the Ministry of Agriculture.
The session, is aimed at disseminating information on the South Coast Marine Management Area Project, and gathering input for inclusion in the Management Plan.
The project is being implemented by the CARICOM Environmental Health and Sustainable Development Department, with funding from the Government of Germany.
It is also part of Component-Two of the Caribbean Aqua-Terrestrial Solutions or CATS project, which focuses on the Management of Coastal Resources and the Conservation of Marine Biodiversity in the Caribbean.
Today’s Forum takes place at the Beachcombers Hotel at Villa from 8:30 this morning, and will be attended by Senior Public Service Officials, Media Officials and other Stakeholder Organizations.
