The Bequia Hospital which was recently renovated at a cost of One Million, One Hundred and Twenty Seven Thousand Eastern Caribbean Dollars was officially opened yesterday.
Residents of Bequia now have access to improved medical services at the Hospital located in Port Elizabeth.
Renovations on the fifty year old hospital was carried out with grant funding provided by the Caribbean Development Bank (CDB) and the government of St. Vincent and the Grenadines.
Project Manager of the Basic Needs Trust Fund (BNTF), Kenneth Douglas, said the building was redesigned to allow for increased accommodation and improved delivery of services.
He also noted that the water storage capacity at the hospital has been significantly increased.
