St. Vincent Electricity Services Limited (VINLEC) has expressed sadness on the passing of Julius Nanton of Calder.
Mr. Nanton died on Wednesday (September 30, 2015) following an incident at Cane Hall where he was engaged in tree-trimming activities.
VINLEC says in a release that at the time of the incident, Mr. Nanton was employed with a tree-trimming contractor, who conducts work on behalf of VINLEC.
VINLEC’s Senior Advisory Safety Committee convened a meeting on Wednesday afternoon and initiated an internal inquiry into the matter.
The Company says it will work closely with the relevant authorities involved in the investigation of this incident.
The Management and Staff of VINLEC extend sincere condolences to the family of Mr. Nanton during this time of bereavement.
