The heart is a muscular organ which pumps blood through the blood vessels of the circulatory system to provide the body with oxygen and nutrients, and to assists in the removal of metabolic wastes.
However, despite its importance health authorities say most persons pay little attention to preventative care for this vital organ.
The World Health Organization (WHO) estimates that heart disease and stroke are the world’s leading causes of death, claiming 17.3 million lives each year.
