Hunters throughout St. Vincent and the Grenadines are ready for today’s official opening of the local hunting season for a number of wildlife species.
Forestry Officer with responsibility for Law Compliance, Bradford Latham, said the hunting season for several popular species including the Manicou, Agouti and Iguana will run through January 31st, 2016.
Speaking on NBC’s Face to Face programme on Wednesday September 30, 2015, Mr. Latham said the hunting season for a number of bird species will also commence at the end of January, 2016.
However, Mr. Latham is encouraging persons to desist from using weapons in the hunting of the various species.
